Waialua High student Elena Aoki has loved riding horses for most of her 14 years, but a competition two weeks ago in Texas may just be the crowning moment of her early career.

June: Topeka horse trainer making name for himself as an Extreme Cowboy

Topekan Lee Hart, a horse trainer and participant in Extreme Cowboy racing, will compete with horse Shelby in the Cowboy Up Challenge at the Calgary Stampede this weekend.

July: Extreme Cowboy Clinic

The name implies a lot but the focus was not so much on the "Extreme" as it was focused on getting the communication between rider and horse clear and consistent; as well and working through horse or rider wariness of obstacles.

May: Extreme Cowboy Race National Championship To Be Held In Shelbyville, TN

Craig Cameron’s Extreme Cowboy Association and the Southern Obstacle Challenge Association are pleased to announce that the EXCA National Championships will once again be held at the historic Celebration Grounds in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Test your horse’s versatility in this timed event, open to all breeds and types of equines. Extreme Cowboy Racing is an event in which horses and riders compete over a timed trail course.

June: Extreme Cowboy Association Clinic

The Extreme Cowboy Association hosts competitions where riders take their horses through a series of obstacles that show horsemanship, trust and refined aids in order to get the horse through the obstacle and in order to earn points.

July: Extreme cowboy racing competition gaining popularity

A multi-faceted event that showcases both horse and rider as they manoeuvre through a series of obstacles and challenges, demonstrating their horsemanship skills and speed.

Agfest: Tasmanian Extreme Cowboys to put on a show. THE growing sport of extreme cowboy racing is growing in Tasmania as more people want a piece of the action. August: Extreme cowboys to compete in risky rides at Chicopee Ag Center Joe Holloway stumbled into riding horses. He didn’t start until age 72, after helping out his wife at a horse rescue. Dennis Tipton, who’s been riding for the better part of his life turned Holloway onto the idea, and now they ride together as part of the Extreme Cowboy Association.
